Astro Multi-use Games Area

The Bradby Club’s Astro Multi-use Games Area was refurbished and updated as part of the Club’s 100 year celebrations in 2019. Since opening it has been a beacon for young people’s attendance at the club and participation in sport. The court is very busy and utilised for all aspects of the clubs work from open-access, boxing and fitness and 121 mentoring.

You will find the court open for free community use Monday to Saturday.

Teresa has attended The Bradby Club for more than 8 years now; her connection with the club comes from other family members that have attended the club over the years. The Bradby Club serves an area which has high levels of deprivation and so the young people are often at risk and disadvantaged. Teresa used to attend the club regularly, taking part in sporting activities, art activities and spending time with friends. The Bradby Club also provided Teresa (and all the other young people that attended and continue to attend the club) informal education around sexual health and relationships and drugs and alcohol awareness.

Teresa continued to attend the youth club when she discovered that she was pregnant, although this was initially a shock to her she has said that the help and support of those at The Bradby Club was vital to her during this time. After the birth of her child Teresa began attending the club less and less frequently, but began to spend more time at the club during the day. It was Teresa’s daytime attendance that sparked conversations between the club and local Children’s Centres to begin a group for young parents across Rugby and District in an environment where they feel comfortable and safe. Having run an open day (a prelude to the group) to engage with young parents across the town Teresa and many other young parents have stated that they feel more comfortable meeting together at The Bradby Club than in many other places. As a result of this the Rugby Young Parent Group will begin on the 24^th September 2014 – 10:30am – 12:00pm. Due to the relationships she has made with the staff and the stability of The Bradby Club, much like a lot of the senior members, Teresa keeps in regular contact with the club and often pops in to say hello, she is looking forward to the young parents group and the skills that this will teach her.
